Bali

We are thrilled to announce our third sober trip to Bali and Beyond departing September 12, 2024.

We begin our adventure in Ubud where we’ll spend four nights in mainland Bali’s spiritual and cultural hub. We will have a vast menu of optional activities to partake in on this itinerary designed to let you decide how you spend your time. You can either pre-book your adventures or just decide as you go and let our Tour Leader, Laura, know what you want to book and she’ll arrange it with our local team.

From Ubud, we will travel to the port on the east coast of Bali where we embark on a ferry boat journey to Gili Air, one of three Gili Islands of Lombok. The Gilis are surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water you’ve only dreamed of. We’ll spend three nights here, again at your pace. This is a mecca for divers, but snorkeling is top rate too, right off the beach. Renting a bike and exploring the small island is a great way to pass the day, or hop on a short boat ride to the other Gili Islands for lunch.

Next up, Nusa Lembongan, also part of a three island archipelago – part of Bali proper. Nusa Lembongan is laid back and chill. Again, diving and snorkeling are popular pastimes as well as yoga and strolls along the ocean. You can also take a day trip to Nusa Penida and visit the many famous Instagram locales there. After two nights, we head back to mainland Bali and head to Sideman for our last night. You will love this gem in the crown; a perfect ending to our magical journey.

As always, we’ve chosen the best accommodations available to ensure you are cozy and well cared for without breaking the bank. Our Bali Trips are our least expensive because we are able to cut out the middle man and curate the trips ourselves and use our local friend, Dewa, for transportation and logistics. We promise you will love this itinerary, crafted especially with a slow paced, spiritual journey in mind. The space is extremely limited on this trip with a wide range of accommodations available starting at $2,825 single occupancy (this price is subject to increase as bookings are happening fast and rooms may sell out in which case we will search for more to accommodate you at a neighboring hotel). Bookings confirmed in order of receipt of a $300 non refundable deposit. More details in the itinerary (click below).

*Prices are land/sea only without international air; optional activity pricing varies depending on activity.

Thailand

We are thrilled to announce this re-vamped Serenity in Siam 7 trip: “return to Thailand.” Part of this trip is a nod to our founder’s early travels to Thailand back in the 90’s, part is brand new to us, and part includes our most popular excursions (the Chiang Mai portion). This trip is the best of the best, which means we travel back to our beloved Andaman Sea after a few years away. Sigh. We’ve missed that color of BLUE.

Join us January as we begin our adventure in Chiang Mai on the 19th. We are officially adding an Elephant Ambassador Experience into the itinerary so everyone gets to be a part of the joy of staying overnight with the gentle giants (not to mention the dogs, cats, water buffalo, ducks, pigs – you name it, Lek’s got them there). A trip to Chiang Mai wouldn’t be the same with out visits to Vannee and her cooking class and Chef Tutu’s scrumptious creations.

We will hit Krabi for the first ever time on a Serenity in Siam trip and then, another first, Khao Sok National Park for more limestone formations and even bluer blues. We’ll end up in Bangkok with a new take on an Ayutthaya excursion – Ayutthaya at night. We did this just before the Serenity in Siam trips started and it’s truly an exceptional way to see the ancient capital.

These are just the highlights. There are tons of cultural experiences, chances to be IN NATURE both above ground and under water, and plenty of culinary marvels.

If this sounds like one you can’t miss, YOU ARE RiGHT! Things need to move fast on this one as we’ve just finalized the details (replacing the Laos trip). Hold your spot with a $400 non-refundable deposit today. Trip prices start at $3,475 based on twin share, not including international flights. Minimum group size is six.

Bali High

Nyepi, also known as the Balinese Day of Silence, is a Hindu celebration in Bali, Indonesia, marking the New Year according to the Saka calendar. It is a day of complete silence, fasting (for the locals), and meditation, where all daily activities cease, and the island comes to a standstill. The day before Nyepi features the vibrant Ogoh-Ogoh parade, where large, demonic statues are carried through the streets to ward off evil spirits. On Nyepi itself, no lights, travel, or work are allowed, and even the airport shuts down, making it a unique and deeply reflective experience.

It’s one of our most beloved trips and we’ve been asked to add it again and March 2025 lines up perfectly. Aside from Nyepi (we’ll celebrate it in a tiny village near Sidemen), we will visit temples, artisan markets, a silver factory, coffee plantation, waterfalls, beaches, and attend a cooking class. There will be ample time for relaxing and /or adding
some optional adventure onto the itinerary such as white water rafting or climbing a volcano. Ever wanted to try surfing? We can do that too!

Our trip begins on March 24, 2025 (meaning you will leave the US on March 22) and we’ll head to the beach first. We’ll spend three nights in Uluwatu, the surfing capital of Bali. Aside from surfing, there are yoga studios, beaches to stroll down, and temples to visit. On March 27, we head to Sidemen, where we’ll spend Nyepi on March 28. Nyepi won’t be the only day for relaxation and reflection, since this area is slow paced, quiet, and off-the-beaten-track. Here we will experience “slow travel.” Finally, on March 31, we head to our last stop —the land of “eat, pray, love” – Ubud. We will participate in a cooking class and check off all of the Bali-things while here while still having enough time to chill. Meetings here are second to none and we’ll have the opportunity to take in a few.

Land packages start at $2,475 per person (limited twin share) or $2,875 (starting price for singles). A $400 non-refundable deposit locks you in. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT is 10% off price after deposit until
October 25, 2024 (no extensions).

"I highly recommend Laura as my travel guide of choice! I am a repeat customer and will be embarking on my 3rd trip with Laura in less then 30 days (my first 2019 Thailand, 2nd 2023 Bali, and my upcoming 3rd in 1/2024 Cambodia and Thailand). I recommend Laura because she takes into consideration her travelers interests and although they are very individualized small group tours, she customizes within the group her individual traveler interests. For example, she has customized my activities on both prior and upcoming trip where I am engaged with the group and then do side tours and activities on my own as well. I like to be active and explore and Laura facilitates that. I have gone off on my own with the assistance of her guides in different countries that have included sunrise volcanic hikes in the national forest in Bali to extended scuba diving in Thailand and Bali. I am so excited about my new adventures hiking the national forests in Cambodia and rice paddies in Thailand as well as additional scuba diving! Whether you want to shop, eat, get great massages and rest or explore and adventure- Laura will make it happen!
I’m an independent traveler who normally travels on my own. I was hesitant to go with a group, but since I’ve gone with Laura who accommodates my preferences, if I’m going to Travel with a group it’s going to be with Get Out There Tours+Travel. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions - I’d be happy to answer them! "
