Costa Rica

Our trip starts in Liberia where we land and head off to our farm stay in Tenorio Volcano National Park near Rio Celeste. Here we will be able to venture into the national park, visit Rio Celeste and its sky blue rapids and waterfalls, or relax at the amazing farm style accommodations. Be on the look out for tapirs, monkeys, anteaters, and other animals hiding in the jungle canopy. The farm produces chocolate so a highlight is a tour and demonstration of the chocolate harvesting and processing.

Next we head to Manuel Antonio for more monkey-business with another National Park to explore and beaches to comb. After that we explore another National Park and Unesco area, our founder’s favorite destination in Costa Rica, the Oso Peninsula and Corcovado National Park. The rainforest here is called the most biologically intense place on Earth and is the largest primary rainforest on the American Pacific Coastline. Dense rainforest jungles meet untouched, pristine beaches for a truly once in a lifetime experience. We will take trips into the jungle and over to Cano Island where scuba divers can add some amazing shipwreck diving to their adventures.

On request from our followers, we have adjusted the Glamping and Rafting Trip as follows and have created an “a la carte” program for both hikers and rafters. Pick and choose which adventure you wish and how much of it you want (option for one OR two rafting days are offered). See pricing grid for various levels and add ons including meals.

Trip Details:
We heard all of the requests and are so excited to announce this epic Glamping and Rafting Expedition in the wilds of Oregon! This trip will be co-lead by avid rafter, Kim Fix, and our founder, Laura. We have teamed up with one of the best rafting outfitters on the Umpqua and assure you that you will be well taken care of during the entire journey whether its one or two days you prefer on the water. Hikers are signing up as well, with some the best hiking trails in Oregon based in this area along Waterfall Row. Most travelers will join at the resort, however we plan to transport those flying in and will be departing from Ashland or Medford (ask about pricing and pick up times). This four day, three night trip officially begins at the resort at 4pm on Thursday, July 11. Optional dinner will be provided, or bring your own food to grill in the Pavilion Area we have reserved for the duration of our stay. For those who are up for a short trip to the local natural Hot Springs, we will head out before or after dinner (depending on everyone’s arrival times).

For rafters, days two and/or three will be spent all day rafting the fast, white water of the Umpqua River with the most rapids per mile in all of Oregon. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of this part of the PNW’s magical wilderness. The Upper Umpqua River region is quintessential Oregon known for its lush, mossy forests, towering cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to admire the stunning landscape and spot local wildlife along the way. Lunch will be included.

For hikers, a list and directions of local hikes to those same lush, mossy forests will be provided before the trip. Laura will lead hikes on Day 2 to three of the dozen of local waterfalls with another opportunity to visit the Hot Springs.

We spend three nights at Umpqua’s Last Resort, a quirky Glamping Resort with several levels of accommodations from Glamping Tents to Tiny Houses and Cabins to Retro RVs. Note that the Glamping Tents and tiny cabins have shared restrooms (brand new with heaters, showers, and flushing toilets.) An optional taco bar dinner on night one will be served at the Resort as will continental breakfasts if desired; lunches will be provided by the Rafting Guides; and dinners will be on our own at the Steamboat Lodge 10 miles up the road. After the trip, if you’ve opted for the transfer we will drop you at your vehicle in Ashland or at the airport in Medford (we can even arrange rides to Eugene Airport).

A wide variety of options for for three nights accommodation is available including Glamping Tent, tiny cabins, and furnished Retro RVs and pricing depends on which accommodation you wish to book and how many extras you decide to add to your package (see Pricing Grid). Note that a luxury lodge is located at Steamboat Lodge 10 miles down the road and we can assist you in pricing that for all or part of the trip, or before or after your time with us on this adventure.

A non refundable deposit of $175 is required to hold your first come, first served space.

We are thrilled to announce our third sober trip to Bali and Beyond departing September 12, 2024.

We begin our adventure in Ubud where we’ll spend four nights in mainland Bali’s spiritual and cultural hub. We will have a vast menu of optional activities to partake in on this itinerary designed to let you decide how you spend your time. You can either pre-book your adventures or just decide as you go and let our Tour Leader, Laura, know what you want to book and she’ll arrange it with our local team.

From Ubud, we will travel to the port on the east coast of Bali where we embark on a ferry boat journey to Gili Air, one of three Gili Islands of Lombok. The Gilis are surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water you’ve only dreamed of. We’ll spend three nights here, again at your pace. This is a mecca for divers, but snorkeling is top rate too, right off the beach. Renting a bike and exploring the small island is a great way to pass the day, or hop on a short boat ride to the other Gili Islands for lunch.

Next up, Nusa Lembongan, also part of a three island archipelago – part of Bali proper. Nusa Lembongan is laid back and chill. Again, diving and snorkeling are popular pastimes as well as yoga and strolls along the ocean. You can also take a day trip to Nusa Penida and visit the many famous Instagram locales there. After two nights, we head back to mainland Bali and head to Sideman for our last night. You will love this gem in the crown; a perfect ending to our magical journey.

As always, we’ve chosen the best accommodations available to ensure you are cozy and well cared for without breaking the bank. Our Bali Trips are our least expensive because we are able to cut out the middle man and curate the trips ourselves and use our local friend, Dewa, for transportation and logistics. We promise you will love this itinerary, crafted especially with a slow paced, spiritual journey in mind. The space is extremely limited on this trip with a wide range of accommodations available starting at $2,825 single occupancy (this price is subject to increase as bookings are happening fast and rooms may sell out in which case we will search for more to accommodate you at a neighboring hotel). Bookings confirmed in order of receipt of a $300 non refundable deposit. More details in the itinerary (click below).

*Prices are land/sea only without international air; optional activity pricing varies depending on activity.

Laos + Thailand

We will head back to SouthEast Asia for another annual Signature SERENITY IN SIAM Trip. Number SEVEN! This time we will venture deep into Laos, one of our founder’s favorite destinations.

Trip begins in Luang Prabang, Laos at 5pm on January 19, 2025 and ends at Bangkok International Airport at 7pm on January 31. (Pre-and Post-Trip hotels can be arranged at an additional cost.)

Prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime with Get Out There Tours+Travel’s Serenity in Siam 7, where we’ll whisk you away to the hidden treasures of Laos (once a part of the Kingdom of Siam) and the breathtaking island of Koh Kood, Thailand. Prepare to be enchanted by
the charm of Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, and Vientiane as we explore the untouched beauty of these destinations.
In Luang Prabang, we’ll immerse ourselves in the tranquility of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where ancient temples and French colonial architecture blend seamlessly. We’ll participate in the daily alms-giving ceremony, stroll through vibrant night markets, and visit
the iconic Kuang Si Waterfalls. Next, we’ll journey to Vang Vieng, a paradise for adventure seekers nestled amidst towering limestone karsts and emerald-green rice fields. We’ll cycle amongst rice paddies and along the Nam Song River, marvel at the breathtaking vistas from the top of Pha Ngeun Viewpoint, and have the option to view it all from
a hot air ballon excursion. As we continue our journey to Vientiane, we’ll discover the laid-back charm of Laos’ capital city, with its landscape dotted by Buddhist temples and colonial landmarks. We’ll explore the bustling markets, sample delicious Lao cuisine, and soak in the rich cultural heritage of this vibrant city.

Laos, often described as Laos, often described as Thailand 30 years ago, offers a glimpse into a simpler way of life, where tradition and authenticity thrive. Compared to Vietnam, Laos captivates with its serene landscapes and slower pace, providing a truly immersive travel experience. But the adventure doesn’t end there! We’ll make a stop in Bangkok for a night of excitement and exploration before heading to the majestic island of Koh Kood. Nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Kood is renowned for its pristine beaches, lush jungle, and crystal-clear waters, making it one of the most gorgeous islands in Asia. Join us on this unforgettable journey and experience the remarkable serenity of this region of former Siam. Ask about our add on Elephant Ambassador Volunteer Program at Elephant Nature Park happening before the Laos portion of the trip. This trip is available with Laos only, Koh Kood only, or as described above – Laos and Thailand. January 19-31, 2025. Limited spots available, so book now — let’s create extraordinary memories — together!

ASK ABOUT OUR ELEPHANT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM in Chiang Mai, Thailand from January 12-19, 2025 (an incredible opportunity to join our Founder, Laura Stegeman, for a week volunteering with elephants and other rescue animals at Elephant Nature Park).

Koh Kood

Short on vacation days? Just want to get away to an untouched Island Paradise? This trip is for you. It’s completely a la cart, but our trip leader Laura will be on site for assistance in booking your snorkeling or diving trip, arranging an island tour, or just recommending the best coconut shack on the island. Our chosen accommodation with a delightful sea view will wow you!

Rates start at $1,095 per person for two sharing a room (two bed configurations are limited to three on site and first come served basis) and land/sea transportation to Koh Kood. Travel from Bangkok by air is available at approximately $165 round trip extra. Single supplements will be calculated for solo travelers starting at $520 (these rates will vary depending on view).

Koh Kood is rated the most beautiful island in Thailand by travelers and publications alike. It takes you back in time, the way Thai Islands used to be before tourists discovered them. This is not Phuket (we wouldn’t do that to you!) This is true Paradise without the hustle and bustle of the busy islands further south.

Since this package is designed as an option for travelers who want to join us after our Laos portion of Serenity in Siam 7 is finished, we understand that’s a long way to fly for four nights so why not bookend your escape with one of our Bangkok Packages before or after your Koh Kood Escape, or even a weekend in Chiang Mai with an overnight at Elephant Nature Park! The options are limitless! Reach out today to guarantee your spot!

We are always adding Tours and Volunteer Opportunities. For the most up-to-date Group Trip Announcements, visit our Facebook Page or Follow us on Instagram.

"I highly recommend Laura as my travel guide of choice! I am a repeat customer and will be embarking on my 3rd trip with Laura in less then 30 days (my first 2019 Thailand, 2nd 2023 Bali, and my upcoming 3rd in 1/2024 Cambodia and Thailand). I recommend Laura because she takes into consideration her travelers interests and although they are very individualized small group tours, she customizes within the group her individual traveler interests. For example, she has customized my activities on both prior and upcoming trip where I am engaged with the group and then do side tours and activities on my own as well. I like to be active and explore and Laura facilitates that. I have gone off on my own with the assistance of her guides in different countries that have included sunrise volcanic hikes in the national forest in Bali to extended scuba diving in Thailand and Bali. I am so excited about my new adventures hiking the national forests in Cambodia and rice paddies in Thailand as well as additional scuba diving! Whether you want to shop, eat, get great massages and rest or explore and adventure- Laura will make it happen!
I’m an independent traveler who normally travels on my own. I was hesitant to go with a group, but since I’ve gone with Laura who accommodates my preferences, if I’m going to Travel with a group it’s going to be with Get Out There Tours+Travel. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions - I’d be happy to answer them! "
