Bali - Day of Silence - March 2025

Nyepi, also known as the Balinese Day of Silence, is a Hindu celebration in Bali, Indonesia, marking the New Year according to the Saka calendar. It is a day of complete silence, fasting (for the locals), and meditation, where all daily activities cease, and the island comes to a standstill. The day before Nyepi features the vibrant Ogoh-Ogoh parade, where large, demonic statues are carried through the streets to ward off evil spirits. On Nyepi itself, no lights, travel, or work are allowed, and even the airport shuts down, making it a unique and deeply reflective experience.

It’s one of our most beloved trips and we’ve been asked to add it again and March 2025 lines up perfectly. Aside from Nyepi (we’ll celebrate it in a tiny village near Sidemen), we will visit temples, artisan markets, a silver factory, coffee plantation, waterfalls, beaches, and attend a cooking class. There will be ample time for relaxing and /or adding
some optional adventure onto the itinerary such as white water rafting or climbing a volcano. Ever wanted to try surfing? We can do that too!

Our trip begins on March 24, 2025 (meaning you will leave the US on March 22) and we’ll head to the beach first. We’ll spend three nights in Uluwatu, the surfing capital of Bali. Aside from surfing, there are yoga studios, beaches to stroll down, and temples to visit. On March 27, we head to Sidemen, where we’ll spend Nyepi on March 28. Nyepi won’t be the only day for relaxation and reflection, since this area is slow paced, quiet, and off-the-beaten-track. Here we will experience “slow travel.” Finally, on March 31, we head to our last stop —the land of “eat, pray, love” – Ubud. We will participate in a cooking class and check off all of the Bali-things while here while still having enough time to chill. Meetings here are second to none and we’ll have the opportunity to take in a few.

Land packages start at $2,475 per person (limited twin share) or $2,875 (starting price for singles). A $400 non-refundable deposit locks you in. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT is 10% off price after deposit until
October 25, 2024 (no extensions).

We currently have arranged for ten spots only so book now! This is our last Bali Trip for two years. Reach out by using the Contact Button below or email us at laura@getouttheretours.com to arrange an info call. We are so excited about this one!!!

Thailand - December 2025

We are thrilled to announce this re-vamped Serenity in Siam 7 trip: “return to Thailand” set for December 1 – 14, 2025. Part of this trip is a nod to our founder’s early travels to Thailand back in the 90’s, part is brand new to us, and part includes our most popular excursions (the Chiang Mai portion). This trip is the best of the best, which means we travel back to our beloved Andaman Sea after a few years away. Sigh. We’ve missed that color of BLUE.

We begin our journey in Bangkok on December 1 where we dive into the bustling energy of Thailand’s capital with its markets, temples, and nightlife where the city will devour you in its endearing chaos and epic vibe. Next we head down to Khao Sok National Park where we’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient rainforests and view unreal wildlife with time to tour the region by longtail boat when we need to relax after a long day of exploration. From there we head down to Krabi and the one and only Andaman Sea. This quaint seaside town has it all and when we tire of street food and smoothies on the beach, we will head out for a Four Island Tour by longtail boat. Finally, we travel up to Northern Thailand to stay in a very special remote village in the highlands above Chiang Mai. We will use this as a base to visit the elephants at Lek Chailert’s Elephant Nature Park where you can choose from a one or two day experience with the elephants. After that, we’ll move on to Chiang Mai’s Riverside where we end our time in Thailand at a gorgeous property on the Ping River where monks will paddle up to us as we give them alms (an incredible experience). We’ll also wander aimlessly through local and night markets, visit the hilltop Doi Suthep Temple, learn how to make a heavenly green curry and the fan favorite Mango Sticky Rice with our friend Vannee at her cooking school, and dine on the culinary delights of world renowned Chef Tutu at his Food For You Restaurant.

These are just the highlights. There are tons of cultural experiences, chances to be IN NATURE both above ground and under water, and plenty of culinary marvels.

If this sounds like one you can’t miss, YOU ARE RIGHT! Things need to move fast on this one once we finalize the details. Hold your spot with a $400 non-refundable deposit today. Minimum group size is six. Trip prices start at $3,350 for twin share or double (per person, excluding International Air).

We are always adding Tours and Volunteer Opportunities. For the most up-to-date Group Trip Announcements, visit our Facebook Page or Follow us on Instagram.

"I highly recommend Laura as my travel guide of choice! I am a repeat customer and will be embarking on my 3rd trip with Laura in less then 30 days (my first 2019 Thailand, 2nd 2023 Bali, and my upcoming 3rd in 1/2024 Cambodia and Thailand). I recommend Laura because she takes into consideration her travelers interests and although they are very individualized small group tours, she customizes within the group her individual traveler interests. For example, she has customized my activities on both prior and upcoming trip where I am engaged with the group and then do side tours and activities on my own as well. I like to be active and explore and Laura facilitates that. I have gone off on my own with the assistance of her guides in different countries that have included sunrise volcanic hikes in the national forest in Bali to extended scuba diving in Thailand and Bali. I am so excited about my new adventures hiking the national forests in Cambodia and rice paddies in Thailand as well as additional scuba diving! Whether you want to shop, eat, get great massages and rest or explore and adventure- Laura will make it happen!
I’m an independent traveler who normally travels on my own. I was hesitant to go with a group, but since I’ve gone with Laura who accommodates my preferences, if I’m going to Travel with a group it’s going to be with Get Out There Tours+Travel. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions - I’d be happy to answer them! "
